Marqués de Riscal, second best vineyard in the world for the third year running 

Marqués de Riscal have been chosen as the second best vineyard in the world in the 2023 World’s Best Vineyards awards, a recognition which the hundred-year-old wine cellar has received for thethird year running. 

In the 2021 and 2022 editions Marqués de Riscal was also named as second best vineyard and wine cellar in the world in the prestigious ranking. For the company, winning this prize for a third time is a recognition of the continued efforts of all the people who make up the wine cellar in offering the visitor a universe of wine tourism experiences of the highest order.

This edition was especially exciting as Rioja hosted the World’s Best Vineyards 2023 awards. Bodegas Beronia was the hosts of the gala in which the list of the 50 vineyards included in the ranking was announced. In first place Catena Zapata from Argentina was chosen.

Marqués de Riscal was included in the programme organised by the Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja as part of the event.

A group consisting of over a hundred people, comprising organisers, jury members and international journalists visited the wine cellar and discovered at first hand its more than 160 years of history. Their visit concluded with a tasting of a historic vintage, that from 1956, in an evening accompanied by live music.
