Herederos del Marqués de Riscal have been chosen as the second best vineyard in the world in the “World’s Best Vineyards 2022” contest, a ranking that is drawn up every year with the world’s best wine tourism destinations.

The list of the cellars included in this year’s “World’s Best Vineyards 2022” was revealed during the ceremony held in the Zuccardi Valle De Uco winery in Mendoza, Argentina.

This is the second consecutive year that Marqués de Riscal has finished 2nd in the ranking, always having been placed in the Top Ten since this contest was first held: In 2019 ninth position, in 2020 sixth, in 2021 second in the world and first in Europe, and in 2022 repeating second place.

For Marqués de Riscal, a bodega with over 160 years of history, , it is a matter of great pride to be named again as the second best vineyard in the world. A prize which recognises the day-to-day work of all the people who form part of the winery to offer the best wine tourism experience every day to visitors. A task which started in 2006 with the inauguration of the Marqués de Riscal City of Wine and the Hotel Marqués de Riscal designed by the Canadian architect, Frank Gehry.

Currently, the bodega offers a universe of experiences to the visitor. The possibility of discovering the history of the bodega through its historic buildings, enjoying the gastronomy of its various options for fine dining including the  Michelin-starred Restaurante Marqués de Riscal, learning at first hand how the wine is made, tasting their wines and even staying in the  Hotel Marqués de Riscal, A Luxury Collection Hotel, which incorporates the Caudalie Spa Vinothérapie®.

The company congratulates the other bodegas which year after year continue working to offer ever better experiences revolving around the world of wine and this year, wishes in particular to congratulate the hosts of the event, Argentina’s Zuccardi Valle De Uco winery, awarded first place in the ranking in the three previous editions. Special congratulations too for the winners, number one in the world and in Europe, Antinori nel Chianti Classico, in Italy, and for the rest of the Spanish bodegas included in the ranking.
